In celebration of Paris Arbitration Week, Stéphane Bonifassi joined fellow peers for an interactive discussion hosted by August Debouzy. Arbitrators and criminal lawyers shared their perspectives and also discussed the importance of the Basel Institute on Governance’s work. In particular, their toolkit for arbitrators which was published by Mark Pieth and Kathrin Betz. You can access the toolkit here.

For the first time, Chambers and Partners included Bonifassi Avocats in its 2021 global ranking for Asset Tracing & Recovery. We are very honored for this prestigious distinction from Chambers.

Stéphane Bonifassi presented alongside Lincoln Caylor and Ian Casewell at the International Enforcement of Judgments and Awards Forum hosted by Cambridge Forums.

For his work in criminal defense and litigations, Stéphane Bonifassi was selected by peers for inclusion in the 12th edition of “Best Lawyers in France.”

In June 2021, Stéphane Bonifassi joined a panel hosted by Global Investigations Review’s GIR Connect: Paris discussing the self-reporting practices of French prosecutors. The panel also featured Karen Coppens, Sophie Scemla, Karl Hennessee, Alexandre Bisch, Jonathan Mattout and Laura Perkins.

In Global Legal Group’s ICLG, Stéphane Bonifassi and Sinem Paksüt shared an update on the Crime of Money Laundering and Criminal Enforcement under French law.

In the 2021 edition of Global Investigations Review’s “GIR Insight: Know-how – Extradition, France” Stéphane Bonifassi and Marie Poirot analyze special extradition arrangements, extradition treaties and dual criminality.

Stephane Bonifassi and Marie Poirot weigh in on the Berezovski case: “This confiscation that benefits the French public treasury is not legitimate and constitutes a windfall effect. The French justice system must recognize the right to these properties to all creditors with whom Berezovski had gone into debt or to whom he had to pay damages because of legal proceedings, “say the French lawyers for the trustee Stéphane Bonifassi and Marie Poirot.”

Stephane Bonifassi, Pauline Hoerner, and Timothy Belevetz analyzed the 2020 AMF annual report. In their analysis, they found an uptick in U.S. and French securities regulators’ cross-border collaboration, signaling investigative efficiencies and corporate risks.
